Sunset Caravan Park
We recently stayed at Sunset Caravan Park Mt Isa, QLD and was very disappointed in the reception we got when booking in and the attitude of the managers.
Steve was very rude to us when we enquired about things to do and see in the Mt Isa area, told us they weren't the information centre and guided us to Outback at Isa.
We weren't guided into out site at all just showen it on the camp map.
Julie never once looked up from the computor other than pass us our reciept.
Both very unfriendly and unattentive to their clientele.
My partner commented to the managers Julie and Steve that he hoped the park facilities are better than the ones who are running it.
The sites are large and plenty of room to stretch out with some concrete slabbing and some without.
We had a very shady spot and was pleased with our site.
There were some permanents there and we were parked opposite them, very friendly couple that guided us to all the best places to see around Mount Isa without costing a fortune, which was great.
After parking our caravan on the site settling in for the three nights stay, we saw there was plenty toilet facilities but not well cleaned.
When I had a shower there was scum in the grouting of the showers and the doors to the toilets where people touch all the time was filthy.
Laundry and kitchen facilities were good but there again they need cleaning properly.
I would say the managers never leave that office otherwise they would see the terrible job their cleaners were doing or they just don't care maybe.
Mt Isa people are very friendly and helpful, even in the shops and we enjoyed our stay but I wouldn't stay at Sunset Caravan Park again all due to the managers attitude and the lack of good cleaning staff.
We were heading to Darwin for a wedding and will be staying in Mt Isa again on our way back but have booked into Discovery park.
