Jacaranda tree is a
beautiful but
introduced tree in Australia.
It is a lovely looking purple tree, and there is actually about 50
species of it.
It is native to Central and South America, and it has
been introduced to Australia.

The tree grows 20-30 metres tall, and being wide, gives quite a good
shade.
It tends to grow more in cooler areas in Australia, and not so much in
the tropics, where it is replaced by poinciana.
Both bloom during the Australian summer, from about October-November to
January, and both are really beautiful.
