There are a few endangered rainforest animals in Australia.

Endangered Rainforest Mammals
Endangered mammals in Australian tropics include northern subspecies of spotted-tailed quoll (Dasyurus maculatus gracilis); bare-rumped sheathtail bat (Saccolaimus saccolaimus nudicluniatus); Sharman's rock wallaby (Petrogale sharmani); mahogany glider (Petaurus gracilis); northern bettong (Bettongia tropica) and greater large-eared horseshoe bat (Rhinolophus philippinensis).

Rare mammals are Atherton antechinus (Antechinus godmani); reginae diadem leaf-nosed bat (Hipposideros diadema); Bennett's tree kangaroo (Dendrolagus bennettianus); Lumholtz's tree kangaroo (Dendrolagus lumholtzi); Mareeba rock wallaby (Petrogale mareeba); lemuroid ringtail possum (Hemibelideus lemuroides); green ringtail possum (Pseudochirops archeri); Daintree River ringtail possum (Pseudochirulus cinereus); Herbert River ringtail possum (Pseudochirulus herbertensis) and golden-tipped bat (Kerivoula papuensis). Those classified vurnerable are coastal sheathtail bat (Taphozous australis); fawn leaf-nosed bat (Hipposideros cervinus); ghost bat (Macroderma gigas); yellow bellied glider (Petaurus australis) and tube-nosed insectivorous bat (Murina florium).

Endangered Rainforest Animals: Birds

Endangered Australian tropical birds are red goshawk (Erythrotriorchis radiatus); southern cassowary (Casuarius casuarius johnsonii); little tern (Sterna albifrons); regent honeyeater (Xanthomyza phrygia); gouldian finch (Erythrura gouldiae) and swift parrot (Lathamus discolor). Rare tropical birds are grey goshawk (Accipiter novaehollandiae); square-tailed kite (Lophoictinia isura); cotton pygmy-goose (Nettapus coromandelianus); freckled duck (Stictonetta naevosa), radjah shelduck (Tadorna radjah); white-rumped swiftlet (Collocalia spodiopygius); black-necked stork (Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus); grey falcon (Falco hypoleucos); sooty oystercatcher (Haematopus fuliginosus) painted honeyeater (Grantiella picta); black-chinned honeyeater (Melithreptus gularis); laetior golden-backed honeyeater (Melithreptus gularis); blue-faced parrot-finch (Erythrura trichroa); pictorella mannikin (Heteromunia pectoralis); Lewin's rail (Rallus pectoralis) eastern curlew (Numenius madagascariensis); sooty owl (Tyto tenebricosa); beach stone-curlew (Esacus neglectus) and glossy black-cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus lathami). Vurnerable species include crimson finch (Neochmia phaeton); eastern subspecies of iredalei crimson finch (Neochmia phaeton); macleayana Macleay's fig-parrot (Cyclopsitta diophthalma); southern subspecies of rufous owl (Ninox rufa queenslandica); powerful owl (Ninox strenua); black-breasted button-quail (Turnix melanogaster); buff-breasted button-quail (Turnix olivii) and northern subspecies of kimberli masked owl (Tyto novaehollandiae).

Endangered Rainforest Animals: Reptiles
There are no reptiles among endangered rainforest animals in Australia. Rare reptiles include common death adder (Acanthophis antarcticus); yellow naped snake (Furina barnardi); robust burrowing snake (Simoselaps warro); rusty monitor (Varanus semiremex) and some species like Nactus galgajuga; Delma mitella; Calyptotis thorntonensis; Carlia scirtetis; Coeranoscincus frontalis; Eulamprus frerei; Eulamprus tigrinus; Glaphyromorphus mjobergi; Lampropholis robertsi; Techmarscincus jigurru and Ramphotyphlops broomi. Vurnerable Australian tropical reptiles include Australian saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) and yakka skink (Egernia rugosa).

Endangered species of frogs in Australian tropics are little waterfall frog (Litoria lorica); waterfall frog (Litoria nannotis); mountain mist frog (Litoria nyakalensis); common mist frog (Litoria rheocola); Australian lacelid (Nyctimystes dayi); sharp snouted day frog (Taudactylus acutirostris) and northern tinker frog (Taudactylus rheophilus).
