Drought Pictures

On this page are some posters that display drought pictures. Australian continent often suffers from drought. The main reason for this is that Australia has geologically been very stable for a long time. It is far away from the boundaries of continental plates, and so new mountains haven't been built for a long time. The old mountains have eroded away, and Australia is consequently the second flattest continent in the world, after Antarctica.

Large flat areas always get dry because rains often build along mountain ranges. Two thirds of Australia are covered by deserts and semi-deserts. It is always very dry there, but things get worse when droughts come along, about once in every ten years. That's when it gets so bad that inland birds start moving to the eastern coast of Australia. Below are some drought posters from AllPosters for you to enjoy. Click on any one and you can buy it.
