"Blue" Lagoon Bay (ended up with the blues after our stay)
Well, it was a getaway to look forward to, to celebrate my 40th birthday with my husband.
We had been to Port Fairy from South Australia many times, as a peaceful retreat.
Not being able to stay in the usual B & B we found out about Lagoon Bay. It looked great on the website with ocean views, modern self contained unit, spa bath.
For the most part it delivered. The ocean views were amazing & it was peaceful & quiet. There however was no spa bath in our unit.
There is also no eftpos or credit card facility so remember to bring cash.
The main bedroom with queen size bed was most uncomfortable, being very hard to sleep on. There was another bedroom with x2 single bed ensembles which were softer so in dormitory style we ended up sleeping in this room on our final night there.
On our return home we found we had forgotten one of our phone chargers. We emailed the host & said we would post a prepaid satchel if she could kindly return it. She said she would, but to make it quick as she was going away soon. We did this the very next day.
After over a month, we still hadn't received it so emailed again. We did also show our disappointment that we heard not heard anything.
Finally a response chastising us that we should be more responsible for our property & that we had left the room in a "filthy state". What kind of customer service is that? Can she describe it? Any rubbish we had we placed in plastic bags to be collected as what anyone would do without access to bins!!!!
No, we won't stay there again. Thank goodness this is not indicative of all B & B owners in Port Fairy.
