you can
* vote
* apply for jobs within the Government and Defence Force
* get an Australian passport
* receive help from an Australian Embassy while overseas
You also have some
responsibilities,
such as
* serve on a jury in a court case if asked to do so
* defend Australia in case of war

To be able to get
Australian
citizenship, you have to
* be over 18 years old (otherwise you get the citizenship of your
parents)
* have lived in Australia as a permanent resident a certain time
* stayed in the country to a certain extent of time
