Australia Zoo is one
of the best zoo
parks in the country.
And on top of that, it is famous - thanks to the crocodile hunter Steve
Irwin who run the park until his death in September 2006.
The park is
on Sunshine Coast, north of Brisbane, in south eastern Queensland.

The original Beerwah Reptile Park was established in the 1970s. Steve
and his wife Terri took over the management form Steve's father in
1992.
The park has since grown. It now covers about 100 acres and has about
1,200 animals. There are Australian animals such as kangaroos,
wallabies, koalas, wombats, echidnas, Tasmanian devils, dingoes, emus,
cassowaries, kookaburras and other birds and animals. There are
crocodiles, as well as pythons and dangerous snakes. There are also
some exotic ones like tigers, lemurs, elephants, camels, zebras,
iguanas, giraffes, rhinoceros, otters, red pandas and komodo dragons.

Apart from the animals, there is a wide range of shows and
entertainment. You can get your photo taken with koalas and some other
animals. You can watch bird, crocodile and snake shows. You can watch
tortoises, otters, elephants, koalas and crocodiles be fed. You can
join guided tours. And you can There is also a food court and retail
stores to go shopping.
